A week to show you care
This week you helped us to:
Every week we take in more than 90 homeless and abandoned animals. Too old, too expensive, too much effort – they’re the pets that people just can’t, or won’t, care for anymore. We give them food, veterinary care, warmth, and a place of safety until we find them the loving home they deserve.
We do this week in, week out, all year round. But with over 650 pets to care for every single day, we can’t do it without your support.
Whatever you can spare this Unwanted Pet Week will make a huge difference to homeless and abandoned pets, like Eddie.
Eddie was too scared to move. He’d been abandoned by the one person he thought he could trust. With poor sight, no food and a busy road near by, Eddie may not have made it through the night.
Thankfully another dog walker discovered Eddie and, realising how vulnerable he was brought him to our Godmanchester Centre. Our vets examined him, and treated the conjunctivitis that was making his eyes sore and painful. Then our team gave him a soft, warm bed of his own, and he wolfed down a bowl of nutritious puppy food.
Oblivious to his surroundings, Eddie needed lots of hands-on care and attention from our team. It was so good to see his little tail finally wag again, and to watch him go home with his loving new owners, Jacqui and Dave.
