Rosie (108071)

Breed: Labrador X

Age: 7 years old

Sex: Female

Rosie was very worried when she first came into the Shelter but has settled in very well, She has always been a kennel dog so her housetraining and home alone will have to be started from scratch. Rosie hasn’t had a lot of experience with other dogs, she has walking friends here and seems to enjoy that so we feel she could share her home with an existing dog as long as the mix was right for her. Although Rosie can be sensitive she can also get excited so children over the age of 7yrs would be better for her. We would not want to place Rosie with a cat as she is known to chase them. Rosie is a very happy dog, she loves her walks and to chase her ball, she will make the right family a fun companion.

Elma (108009)

Breed: Labrador X

Age: 6 years old

Sex: Male

Elma has been a very shy boy while here at the Shelter, he is more confident and says hello to everyone when he is away from Wood Green. Although Elma has had a bad experience with other dogs he still enjoys their company and would like to share his home with the right one. Elma would not be able to live with cats or small animals, he does love to run and chase! He is ok to be left for short periods. A home with children over the age of 12yrs will suit Elma as he can be a little worried by small people. Elma has been a worried boy here with us, he needs lots of patience and encouragement, he loves his toys and to go for walks. He deserves such a loving home, can you offer Elma the loving home he desperately needs.

Jim (107879)

Breed: Terrier

Age: 3/4 years old

Sex: Male

Jim is a bonny little lad, full of energy and fun. He loves the company of other dogs and could happily live with another dog depending on the mix. Jim has been left in the home for a couple of hours with no reported problems; this should be increased very slowly. We feel that he may be fine to live with children over the age of 10yrs (2 max) as long as supervised with them and they are not allowed to tease him. We do not know how Jim will be with cats in the home, however he can be distracted so please read our leaflet. Jim will want new owners who have lots of time for him, and can give him plenty of exercise and the attention he adores. Please come and meet Jim if you can offer him the home he needs.

Lunar (108126)

Breed: Springer Spaniel X Collie

Age: 10 months old

Sex: Female

Lunar is a lovely sociable girl who wants to say hello to everyone, but she must learn to keep all four feet on the floor! Lunar forgets her manners when meeting other dogs, so it would depend on the mix as to whether she could live with them. As Lunar is a live wire and not for the faint hearted!..we are looking for a calm home with children over the age of 14yrs. A training minded family who want to take on a training project and attend agility would be fantastic for this very active girl. Luna can only be left for one hour and must be left with something to occupy her. Have you the patience and experience to give Lunar a loving home? She is very smart and enthusiastic and will make the right home a loving friend.

Sandy (107054)

Breed: Border Terrier X

Age: 10 years old

Sex: Male

Sandy is our little bear who is looking for his forever retirement home. He would benefit from meeting other dogs on walks but he is not able to live with them. We do not feel Sandy would be suitable to sharing his home with a cat, he does show lots of terrier traits! Due to Sandy’s advancing years we would like a home with children over the age of 8yrs who would be gentle with him, and understand he is an older man. Housetraining and home alone must be started from scratch with Sandy, He is very loving, loves his walks and will make someone a lovely companion. Please call if you can offer Sandy a home.

Sasha (108091)

Breed: Husky x German Shepherd

Age: 6 months old

Sex: Female

Sasha is lively, bright and affectionate and is looking for a training minded family. She loves to play with other dogs but does get over excited so a nice calm steady dog to live with would be great for her. Sasha has lived with a cat and a rabbit in her previous home however she never left them alone, so we feel she would be better without them. We are looking for a home with children over the age of 8yrs and can help with Sasha’s training. Sasha will need to be taught to be left home alone, so she will not be able to be left initially. Sasha is a bright young dog and needs a home where she will be kept mentally as well as physically active and stimulated. New owners must be prepared to do lots of training with Sasha. She is very loving and will be a rewarding friend for the right home.

Charlie (108038)

Breed: Labrador

Age: 7 years old

Sex: Male

Charlie is a very friendly boy, who loves human interaction. He is happy to have fuss & cuddles from anyone & everyone. Charlie has been used to being an only dog all his life and likes his space; we would like this to continue for him. Charlie has never lived with a cat but would probably be ok with a bolder cat that did not run. Obviously any introductions would need to be done carefully & slowly. Please read our leaflet. Charlie has not had a lot of experience with children; we believe he would be better with children over the age of 10yrs who will understand when he has had enough. Charlie needs to be left home alone with things to keep him occupied; we would only want him to be left for 4hrs at the maximum. Charlie is a lovely lad who has been very stressed since arriving at the Shelter. As his twilight years approach he needs to find his forever home. Please call for more information about this dear gent.

Ben (105305)

Breed: Parsons Terrier

Age: 6 years old

Sex: Male

Ben is a happy little chap who loves to have fuss and attention when he knows you but at other times is quite independent. He will need a family who understand that he does not want to have attention all the time. We need to find Ben a home with children over the age of 14 years and with sensible visiting children. Ben can possibly live with another dog it will depend on the mix, females only, larger than him and not timid or sensitive. In Ben's original home he lived with a female border collie who he got on very well with and had some doggy friends. He can be left for short periods of time, he has previously had the run of the downstairs area and been a good boy. Ben cannot live with cats due to an unpleasant experience in the past, and we want him to be as relaxed as possible in his new home. Ben needs a quiet family who will take him for lots of walks ideally with a large garden so he can run off his excess energy.

Colin (107622)

Breed: Staffordshire Bull terrier x

Age: 1 year old

Sex: Male

Colin is a very friendly and sociable dog. He loves being around people and he will greet adults and children in a friendly and calm way. Colin would like to be the only dog in the home; he has lots of walking friends here but does often forget his manners. We would like to find him a home with children over the age of 10yrs. As Colin came into the Shelter as a stray we do not know how he will be home alone, we advise very short periods to start with. Colin can get very excited very quickly, because of this we would rather he didn’t live with any cats. Colin is a very happy dog. He is very playful and has lots of energy. His new owners will need to put a lot of time into training Colin. He is a very intelligent boy and is pleasure to look after, Are you the forever home Colin is looking for.

Frank (107133)

Breed: Mongrel

Age: 2 years old

Sex: Male

Frank is one of our Romanian friends who is looking for his forever home. Poor Frank gets very upset when left. We ask when he goes to a new home his home alone must be built up very slowly. Frank is a very sensitive sole so we would not want him to go into a home with children under the age of 14yrs old. He must be allowed to chill out in his own area. He will not suit a busy household! Frank loves to have doggie friends to walk with but he loves all the fuss attention to himself, so he would be better to be the only dog in the home. We do not know how frank would be with cats, however he has been very gentle with rabbits, so please read our cat/dog introduction leaflet. Most of the time Frank is calm and laid back, but he has his mad moments! Can you make Frank the centre of your attention and spend lots of time with him?

Please call Dog reception on 08701 90 40 90 for further information.

Max (108022)

Breed: Cross Breed

Age: 10 years old

Sex: Male

Max has come into the Shelter as a stray, however we do have a small amount of information about him. He has previously lived with children but was a little worried by the younger ones, we would like Max to live in a home with children over the age of 10yrs. Max can be a bit giddy and forget his manners in the company of other dogs, he loves them to walk with but not to live with. Max has never lived with a cat so we feel its better that he doesn’t. Max should only be left for a very short time, he is a people’s dog who likes fuss and attention and will nudge you for more if you stop. Max needs a loving secure home for his twilight years, can you offer Max your home?
