FIELD SECTION
The field section based at our Godmanchester Shelter take in and rehome a variety of animals including horses and ponies, sheep, goats and occasionally pigs. They also care for our resident flock of soay sheep and 'Dino' our llama and 'Beauty' the Red Deer. The field animals come to Wood Green through a variety of reasons, some are due to ill health of their owners, others through loss of grazing land, goats are often in need of a home due to unsuitable accommodation. The field animals at Wood Green are firstly checked over by our equine veterinary team, they are micro chipped or eartagged, vaccinated, wormed and foot trimmed prior to rehoming. The field section are a small dedicated team who work closely together to ensure a high standard of care to all of their animals, incorporated in this are individual animal assessments which helps them in selecting the best possible new home.
If you are interested in rehoming a field animal please call Wood Green on 08701 90 40 90 and speak to a member of the field section or email us.
