Frequently Asked Questions

All the dogs that come in to Wood Green Animal Shelters are looked after and rehomed from the Godmanchester Shelter. Wood Green is open to unwanted, stray and abandoned dogs seven days a week 365 days a year.

On entry all dogs are checked over by the on site vets and then assessed by the 'Assessment Team' to ensure that we can match them to the best possible home. Some of the dogs require more one to one contact with our staff, Our 'Booster Programme' provides the dogs with this support and the staff are able to work more closely with dogs that are extremely nervous or slightly aggressive.

The dogs are housed in a state of the art kennelling block, which provides them with both internal and external areas and they are heated throughout the winter. The kennels are cleaned regularly and the dogs are walked daily by the dedicated staff and volunteers at the Shelter.

When we receive a homefinder form we will register your details and keep them for two months, although we can not always guarantee an animal match. Once you have filled out your form hand it in to the Dog Reception when you visit the Godmanchester Shelter or post it to us.
