There are a number of reasons why cats are brought in to Wood Green Animal Shelters. They can be strays, unwanted or their owners are moving. Each cat / kitten that comes into the Shelter stays in our holding room to settle before being thoroughly checked by one of the veterinary staff, at this stage the cats sex and age will be confirmed. If the cat is in good health it will have its vaccinations, be wormed and flea sprayed. Some of our cats may be considered a 'high risk' which will mean they require a blood test to determine whether they have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) or Feline Leukaemia (FeLV). Once all of these checks have been carried out the cat will be booked in to be neutered if it is not already and then it will be moved into the rehoming area.
Click here for the Cat Homefinder Form When we receive a homefinder form we will register your details and keep them for two months, although we can not always guarantee an animal match. Once you have filled out your form hand it in to the Cat Reception when you visit the Godmanchester, Heydon or London Shelter or post it to us. |
