Fundraisers walked across hot coals to raise more than £5,000 for Wood Green, The Animals Charity.

The event was the first of its kind to take place at the Charity’s Godmanchester Centre in Cambridgeshire on September 21st.

Forty men and women withstood temperatures of around 600 degrees to complete the charity walk.

Wood Green Community Fundraiser Caroline Willis said: “We had 40 wonderful, brave people sign up with around 160 friends and family watching. The weather was terrible but it didn’t dampen anyones spirits with some firewalkers having three turns walking on the coals.

“All of the money raised will go direct to the animals at Wood Green.”

If you are interested in raising money for Wood Green, email fundraising@woodgreen.org.uk or call Caroline on 0844 248 8181.

Here are a few pictures from the event. More can be found on our Facebook page.
