Legacies
A central part of the funds Wood Green receives from supporters comes from legacies – sums of money and donations left to Wood Green in people’s wills. Over the years, legacies have played an increasingly important role in the charity’s development and have paid for numerous new projects and improvements at the Godmanchester, Heydon and London Shelters. Just one example; The Coco Marcus Kennels and Phyllis Pratt Cattery were built due to legacies left to Wood Green. Legacies of all sizes continue to contribute to the £16,000 a day needed to provide veterinary support, food and shelter for the animals in our care. Pet Alert
Wood Green’s Pet Alert scheme provides pet owners with peace of mind that if something should happen to them Wood Green will look after their pet. Owners are safe in the knowledge that their pet will be placed in a loving and secure home. The scheme enables you to register a contact telephone number for the person or organisation you wish to entrust with the care of your pets, should the need arise. This information is held by Wood Green Animal Shelters as a confidential record and you are given two Pet Alert cards, one to keep in a wallet or handbag and a larger one for displaying prominently in your home.
