Our Professional Door-to-Door Fundraisers are currently recruiting supporters in the following cities and surrounding post code areas: Chelmsford (CM18, 19 & 20), Colchester (CO1, 2,3 4, 5, 6 & 7), Canterbury (CT3, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17), Ipswich (IP22, 24, 25, 26), Medway (ME1, 5, 6, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20), Norwich (NR6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19 & 20), Peterborough (PE32 & 37) and Tunbridge Wells (TN9, 10, 11, 12, 15 & 27).

What is Door-to-Door Fundraising?

Representatives have been contracted from a professional organisation, (Support Direct Ltd), to visit homes and recruit new supporters who wish to help Wood Green Animal Shelters by making a regular monthly donation by Direct Debit. 

Why Are Wood Green Using This Method of Fundraising?

This has proven to be a safe and secure method to communicate with the public and recruit valuable long-term supporters. Since we receive no Government or Lottery funding we rely entirely on the generosity of the general public to provide the food, shelter, veterinary expenses and care for every animal that comes through our doors.

What Happens to Donations and Personal Details?

Wood Green pays an agreed fee to Support Direct Ltd, from a pre-allocated fundraising budget.  We can assure you that all the proceeds from any donation go directly to Wood Green Animal Shelters. All personal information provided is handled securely under the terms of the Data Protection Act.

How To Check That The Fundraiser is Genuine

The Fundraisers will introduce themselves as "working on behalf of Wood Green Animal Shelters" and wear ID badges that clearly state that they are working for a fundraising organisation and are not direct employees of the charity. They are typically aged 20-35 and work between the hours of 12.30-8.30pm.  They will be smartly dressed and wearing a dark green fleece jacket or polo shirt with the Wood Green logo on it.  (Please see the photograph below).
