SUCCESS STORIES

We always like to hear how are canine companions are getting on in their new forever homes. Here are some of the good news stories we hear every day from families and their animals. If you want to submit your success story please email your image and letter to info@woodgreen.org.uk or post it to us.

Rudy the Labrador

We saw Rudy for the first time on the 3rd August 2008 sitting in his kennel loving all the fuss from all the passers by. He sat there with his puppy eyes and that was it! We were allowed to take him out for a walk, with his tail wagging round in circles the whole time. We brought the rest of the family in a few days later and then we were lucky enough to bring him home a week after seeing him for the fiirst time. Rudy soon settled in each day showing us a bit more of his character - cheeky, nosey, affectionate, placid and very adorable.

My family were very impressed with wood Green Animal Shelters - the staff and grounds alike.

Lady the Terrier

On the 13th July, we picked up "Lady". the whole family is so happy with her, she has made herself at home. lady has a routine now, at eight o clock in the morning she gets up and has her breakfast. Then she has a run around before we all go to work, she is left alone for three hours and probably relishes that time for peace and quiet.

At five o clock she goes out for a walk in the local woods and she loves to run around after the rabbits and sniff out the new and intersting smells. After her walk, its dinner time and then the evening is spent relaxing on our laps.

She is an excellent dog who is great with children, but still a bit nervous around big dogs (but we will get there).

From all of us a big thankyou

Ronnie the Lurcher

Ronnie is doing very well, he is the usual affectionate, obedient and well behaved boy with lots of character and he is as handsome as ever. He recently received a rosette for best conditioned dog at a dog show, he is now very healthy. He has plenty of exercise and play time with his best friend Spencer who has been with us for over a year now. When he is not running around or playing he enjoys a long nap on the sofa in the strangest positions. We are very close to the countryside and Ronnie has a lot of walks in the woods and fields.

All the best and thank you for taking good care of Ronnie

Amber the Doberman

Amber has adapted well to our home, at first she was very shy and withdrawn and was very underweight with bad hair loss. In the five months we have had her she has nearly reached her target weight and her coat is growing back. She has an amazing temperament, and is just starting to show her sense of humour! Everybody just loves her and she is slowly gaining trust with other dogs. She loves her treats and she loves her runs round the field, and to raid the bin at night if I forget to empty it!

Thankyou to all at Wood Green
