Stobit is a very friendly affectionate cat who loves human company. She lived predominantly as an indoor cat in her previous home, only choosing to go out for short periods of time. She would prefer to sleep on a comfortable bed all day. When she did go out, she would occasionally hunt and bring her prizes back to the house…alive!

Stobit is not used to living with children but would be fine with older sensible children. She is very wary of other animals so would be best rehomed as an only pet.

Bilberry is an affectionate cat who likes a fuss but can turn on you very suddenly. Bilberry would need an understanding experienced owner who realises that Bilberry is temperamental and can lash out with no warning. He is a very handsome boy who loves his food and is very active. He would need lots of space where he can go in and out of the house as he pleases.

Alternatively, Bilberry could be rehomed as an outdoor cat but he would like human interaction and would want a fuss every now and then. If an outdoor set up sounds ideal for your circumstances, we would organise a home visit to be done with you. Bilberry would still need to be fed on a daily basis and would need shelter and warmth.

Due to his temperament, Bilberry would be best rehomed to a home with adults only but would most probably be fine with other animals. He seems fine with other cats.

Sally and Bess are a close pair who are looking to go to a new home together. They are both slightly nervous at first but do warm to you once they get to know you. Sally is the slightly more outgoing of the pair and loves to be fussed; Bess likes a fuss too but is more apprehensive. They are both in excellent health for their age.

Sally and Bess would prefer a quiet home with adults only or mature older children (10+). We are not sure what they are like with other animals, but seem ok in the homing runs with the other cats.

Because Pepper is nervous, we feel a quiet home with adults only or older mature children would be best for her. Since she is a stray, we do not know what she is like with other animals, but she seems fine with other cats in the run.

Keesa (top picture) and Diesel came into the shelter as their owners developed an allergy and could no longer keep them. Kessa is a lovely, outgoing independent little girl who loves her home comforts and a play. Diesel is a little quiet but is fine when he gets to know you as he loves cuddles and being groomed but is also very adventerous unlike his partner. He is currently on a special diet to help improve the condition of his coat.

Prudence is a very affectionate cat who loves a fuss and also prefers to sleep in his cat bed for most of the day! He has got a couple of health problems: he is hyperthryoid which requires daily treatment to control the condition and is also fed on a prescription diet as he had a urinary tract infection in the past. He will need to remain on this diet for the rest of his life. Prudence would make a great family pet and could be rehomed with any aged children. We are not sure what he is like with other animals, but seems to be fine with other cats in the runs, so would probably be OK with another cat in the home.

Her skin is in good condition at the moment but a new owner would need to treat the condition when it flares up. Mishka is a black/white one eyed female cat who is happy for a fuss once she knows and trusts you. She can be a bit hissy and defensive in the run, but this is partly due to being stressed by the other cats. She would suit a quiet home with no children or other animals.

Tia is a very affectionate friendly cat who is really outgoing and always comes up for a fuss. She has an allergic skin condition which is being successfully controlled with a special diet and herbal remedy tablets. She will need to remain on the diet and tablets for the rest of her life. She no longer needs to wear her collar but may need to if her condition flares up.Tia would be best rehomed with children aged 10+ and may possibly be able to go home with another friendly cat.

Sooty is a loving, affectionate lap cat who would love a quiet home where she can relax for the rest of her years. Sooty has several health problems – a mild heart murmer, hyperthyroidism and is on a renal diet – but her personality makes up for all those problems. She is so sweet natured. She is on a special diet which she will need to remain on for the rest of her life, and is on daily treatment for her thyroid problem.

Beth is a sweet affectionate girl who was brought back to the shelter as she did not get on with the other cat in the home. She tends to hide away in the little huts in our homing area, so visitors do not tend to see her. Beth loves to sunbathe or explore outside but also likes a cozy sleep in the home as well. She loves to play (especially with wine corks, balls and little pebbles!) She also enjoys a cuddle and fuss whenever she gets the opportunity.

Mercedes and Petra (33193/94)

Mercedes (black) and Petra (tabby) are two very affectionate, loving, outgoing girls who love a fuss and crave attention. They are a very close pair and need to be rehomed together. They are both on a special diet as Mercedes has a problem with her kidney function. They would both need to be fed on the special diet for the rest of their lives and Mercedes also hasdaily medication. Mercedes and Petra can go home with any aged children and could be rehomed with other cats and possibly dogs.

Milly was stressed in her previous home as she did not get on with the other cat, so would be much happier as an only pet. Milly is an affectionate cat who loves a fuss, although is wary of her head being stroked. She can be a little temperamental but usually when people disturb her when she has got herself nice and comfy. She loves to hunt and play (with wine corks, balls and little pebbles). Milly would be best rehomed as an only pet with older, mature, understanding children.

Sox is a slightly chubby cat who is on a weight-reduction diet until he has reached his target weight. Sox is an independent cat who can be temperamental and is also very territorial. He does prefer adult company and likes a sleep on his owners’ bed, taking up lots of space! Sox would be best homed as an only pet and with adults only.

He is not alone in his weight watchers course, these are also five others with him in our homing run – all who are very affectionate cats who like a fuss, ranging in age from 6 years to 12 years.

Luka and Xena (35835/36)

Age: 7 months and 1 year old

Sex: Male and Female

Luka (bottom picture) was found in West Cork with a very serious eye infection. His eye was treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, but this did not help and the decision was made to remove his eye to prevent further suffering. Xena is 7 months old and very nervous, she will require quality time spent with her to gain her confidence. Both cats love to play and are very close. Ideally they will need a quiet home with no children but could go home with an existing cat. Luka and Xena came to the shelter from an Irish charity to find a new loving home.

Flori is a pretty little girl who has an independent spirit. She has been rather feisty at the Shelter, but does like a  fuss on her own terms. She needs understanding people who realise the type of cat she is – and lots of patience, to help socialise her further. Flori loves being outside, although she did not hunt in her previous home. Due to her temperament, Flori would be best suited to a home with adults only or families with teenagers, as she has had history of scratching young children. She may be OK with other animals.

Duchess came into the shelter because her owners relocated abroad. She originally lived with children and other animals, but she is very timid at the Shelter and we feel that she would be best suited to a quiet home with owners who will give her plenty of time to get used to family life again.

Jessica is an independent, affectionate cat who loves a fuss and greets you first thing in the morning for her breakfast! She spends her time sunning herself or curling up in a cat bed. She is on a prescription diet to help control for a urinary tract condition.
