Dennis Baker OBE

Chief Executive

Dennis has been the Chief Executive of Wood Green Animal Shelters since June 2000.  He is responsible to the Board of Trustees for the leadership and management of all three of Wood Greens sites.

The Key roles for the Chief Executive are:

• To formulate the charity's philosophy and strategies and to achieve its objectives and targets
• To manage the Charity in line with the Board of Trustees' policies
• To ensure the Board of Trustees receive all relevant information to advise the Board and to help it fulfil its functions.

Before joining Wood Green Animal Shelters Dennis was a Group Captain in the Royal Air Force.  He owns a black labrador called Gibson, two retired racehorses called Silky and Blue and two ferrets called Sally and Molly.

Sharon Evans

Director of Fundraising & Communications

Sharon joined Wood Green on St. Davids Day (1st March) 2004.  Sharon has had an extensive career in fundraising working in the past for Barnardos, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and The National Kidney Research Fund.

Sharon has a trusty companion called Ozzy who regularly accompanies her on Fundraising activities but more commonly he can be found wandering around the office.

Although Sharon is Welsh, she doesn't find this hinders her job whatsoever!

Dave Morgan

Director of Facility Services

Dave joined Wood Green in July 2006.  He has over 20 years experience in facilities and contract management working for a range of organisations such as The London Electricity Board, British Gas plc, TransCo and East & North Hertfordshire NHS Acute Trust.

To save any confusion the tall, dark handsome one in the picture is Cherokee one of our RDA horses.  The least said about Dave the better!

Dave is married to Trish, and they have two children; Tamsin and Max.  The house is shared (or run by) Champ a white Persian cat; Trish is always telling Dave she couldn't imagine life without Champ (she doesn't actually mention Dave in this conversation though!)

Tina Jeffery

Director of Business Development

Tina Jeffery joined Wood Green Animal Shelter in 1991 as a volunteer and has had various roles within the Shelter.

Volunteer and supporter co-ordinator

Event manager

Campaigns manager

Trading manager

Tina is now Director of Business Development and Trading.

Her passion for the Shelter and acknowledgment for the need of corporate support keeps her driven and determined.

Tina has an obsession with cleaning her windows almost every weekend! She also enjoys travelling and strives to be a connoisseur in the kitchen wherever she can; she has been known to cook for 22 people at Christmas.

Clive Byles

Director of Operations

Clive started at Wood Green Animal Shelters in July 2005, bringing with him over 20 years of work experience.  His background is mainly in the field Human Resources where he has worked in the Public, Retail and Insurance sectors.

His desire is to make a difference, to the animals the Charity cares for, but equally the wonderful staff and volunteers that contribute so much to making the Charity a success.  Within his current role, Clive believes he is in a prime position to make that difference.
